Rancho la Cueva is situated in the middle of NoWhere! You need to be aware of that if you plan to go here.
The owner of the place have build a nice and clean place up from more or less nothing, but you live there on his premises. There is no (3rd party) kiosk, no (3rd party) restaurant, no (3rd party) bar etc. You can buy what he have in stock. Nothing else. If you feel for a coke, you just have to cross your fingers and hope, that he have coke in stock that day...
Everything, though, at reasonable prices.

Getting there was some kind of an adventure. We was on a guagua and got of at the nearest town. There we had to negotiate with some motoconchaes (teenagers at mopeds) to drive us to La Cueva which happens to be 3-5 kilometers away - on leaky dust/clay roads with smaller - and bigger - water ponds. Cross your fingers and hope for the best, but be sure - those guys have been there before. They know what they do, and tell them if you are nervous, then they slow down. Speaking of experience :-)

When all that is said, La Cueva is only 5 minutes walk from a beautiful beach where we didn't meet any other guest at all! You got the whole Bounty world on your own. Just walk through the forest of wild coconut palms, and you are there. Lovely sand, wonderful waves and lots of sun.

I will say: Lovely place, but after 1-2 night I was glad we had to continue to more "civilized" areas.
