Over Jagatram Niwas Guest House

Jagatram Niwas is a family-run homestay guest house in the ancient village of Heini, in the foothills of the Himalayan Dhauladhar range.

The guesthouse is situated above Dharamsala and McLeodganj - the home of the Dalai Lama - and is an ideal base for trekking, excursions, and exploring the locality.

The views and natural surroundings are stunning, with diverse flora and fauna, including kites, monkeys and mongooses.

We have a selection of comfortable, stylishly furnished twin and double rooms, some with attached bathroom and use of shared kitchen, and some with use of our four shared bathrooms. Breakfast is included and we can also offer traditional Himachali home-cooked dinners.

The atmosphere is welcoming - the two brothers who own Jagatram Niwas live on-site with their families - but guests may also enjoy privacy as they wish, sitting out on our huge terraces. Whether you are looking for activities (including trekking and yoga/meditation courses in the area) or a peaceful retreat, Jagatram Niwas offers a great holiday.

Bavinder Singh and his family certainly show years of experience in the homestay industry.Their house is situated in a perfect quiet location with panoramic views over McloudGanj and the snowcapped Dhauladhar mountains as a backdrop..Requests and needs are catered for without a hint of hesitation and the delicious homecooking is typically of the local region..The added convenience of a kitchen stocked with a variety of teas and coffee is a unique bonus in the guest house...Spending and enjoying the festival of Holi with the family made our stay extra special and extremely memorable...We have no hesitation in recommending a stay at Jagatram Niwas and we ourselves look forward to being back very soon...Henry Watts & Songhi Lee..Tasmania,Australia...
