Over JamboHouse
JamboHouse is located on beautiful Lamu Island in the North of Kenya. In our 5 rooms (all with private bathrooms) we provide a comfortably stay at reasonable rates. We have three double rooms with integrated bathroom (one of them with small private balcony) and two double rooms with private bathroom (access to them is via the corridor). Afternoon time free coffee & tea is available on our rooftop terrace.
On arrival we serve you a Welcome Drink on our rooftop terrace where you could enjoy a nice view of Lamu Town. In the morning we also serve there our delicious breakfast (fresh juice, fruits, eggs/omelette/pancake/French Toast, toast, jam, coffee/tea). We are ideally located to explore the Old Town of Lamu. We are just three minutes from Town Square (with Lamu Fort) which you reach in a short walk through small lanes. Restaurants, small shops, KCB Bank (with international ATM), internet caf�s are all reachable within a short walking distance. To get to famous Shela Beach you could either walk along the shore (approximately 45 min) or you could take a boat (20 min) for a small fare. Lamu Island is a fascinating small island where donkeys are the main mean of transport. On Lamu Island you find a quiet and peaceful atmosphere with friendly people, fascinating culture, beautiful deserted beaches, good snorkelling, great sunsets,� We gladly help you to arrange dhow trips, Kayak trips, diving trips, donkey rides, guides for visiting the Old Town, give you informations where to get traditional swahili dishes prepared by local people and much more.
We also have FREE Wi-Fi Internet.
JamboHouse was the first guesthouse/hotel in Lamu what organized game drives in Lamu District (day trip!)

We had a wonderful three-day stay in JamboHouse. It's located right in town so it's easy to get to restaurants, the sea front, the museum, etc. It's also very easy to walk to the beach. Breakfasts at JamboHouse are delicious and the team (especially Arnold) is great! Recommendations, bookings for dhow trips, etc. - they help you with it all. Would highly recommend!

Due to the homepage of Jambo Guesthouse we expected an accommodation at the beach. Unfortunately, this was a big misunderstanding. It takes 20 minutes to get to the beach - on a boat!
Jambo Guesthouse is situated in the centre of Lamu town, reachable through narrow dirty streets.

We really loved our stay at Jambohouse and in Lamu! What a great experience! You get so much personal attention at Jambohouse and the staff is always available for any assistance you need, making sure your stay is as perfect as possible. Thanks again Arnold and staff!
Jambo House has a nice location in old town and has a very pleasant rooftop terrace overlooking Lamu. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with fans and mosquito nets and well-maintained bathrooms. The owner is exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable and is happy to help with arrangements for donkey rides, day trips to Shela and other nearby beaches, dhow cruises, etc. Would definitely recommend Jambo House and would gladly stay there again myself.
