Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are clean, comfortable and the rates reasonable. Basic breakfast of coffee/tea and toast served in the morning is also a nice touch, it gives us the opportunity to meet and interact with other guests staying at the lodge.

Good location near to the city center but not too near so it isn't very noisy within walking distance to places of interest in the city such as the Filipino market, Centre Point mall, seafood restaurants, the Waterfront, etc.

I would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Kota Kinabalu and recommend this place to my friends

Note: Lavender Lodge doesn't seem to be listed in the complimentary copy of the KK street map from the Sabah tourism board you can get at the airport and a few other places but if you need to find this place it's in the same row as Ruby Hotel, just look for a purple sign nearby. Taxi drivers will also know where this place is.

Our stay at the Lavender Lodge was okay, hotel staffs are very accommodating. Highly recommended especially for tourists with tight budget but want to have a comfortable accommodation. Location of the hotel is very strategic. Internet access is available.

Generally, Lavender's Lodge is a nice place to stay for those who are on a budget. It's clean and provides the basic necessities for a budget accomodation. If you want to try sea food and Chinese cuisine in Sabah, there are a lot of them around Lavender's Lodge some of them are open until midnight while others open so early in the morning. Early morning will never be a bore, you can try different cuisines available in Sabah, it's just a short walk from Lavender's Lodge.
Like other budget accomodations, you have to carry your luggage through the stairs since they have no lifts, attendants are friendly and would help you with it, I just didn't expect the stairs that's too high since the room that I have is on the 3rd floor. But this place is cool, they waited for me eventhough I arrived almost 3 hours late since my flight was delayed and they never cancelled my booking. Thank you very much for that! If they cancelled my reservations I don't know where I', going since there is no room available in Sabah on that night since I arrived during a Moslem holiday. And the Filipino staff in the hotel are friendly and helpful, thanks a lot Kabayans!

The hotel is overly cautious with cost. The staff will enter your room just to turn off the aircon and fan without asking for permission. Even though we did not drop the key at the front desk.

The share-toilet rolls (inferior quality) always run out empty, we have to remind them to replenish the rolls often.

Very friendly staff..

We stayed there with our kids. It's their first experience having backpackers-style holiday. Place is very clean.

We wanted hot water for our tea in the night and the staff actually boiled us some! Coffee in the morning is good too!

Walking distance to Centrpoint, Warisan Mall & Waterfront eateries.

What's even better. It's right across the Seri Selara Seafood Center. Best white-pepper crab and oyster-omelette! And chendol too!

When we turned up we were shocked at the location as it appeared to be in a Red light district. Outside the hotel was full of prostitutes and boy racers who parked below our window for most of the night. The room itself was clean but the carpeted floor was very off putting. The hotel was more like a converted hospital. The staff were friendly but I would not reccommend this for couples or anyone staying for more than one night.
