Homeros Pension is run by Dervis and his family.
Since 1991, Homeros has been a popular place with travellers. It is located in the old (and quiet!) part of Selcuk town with a splendid 360' view from the rooftop terrace.
From the rooftop terrace, you can see all the sights and plan how you will visit them all: St John's Basilica (100m walk), Isa Bey Mosque (200m walk), Artemis Temple -one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World (300m walk), the Museum (150m) and Ephesus (3km).
Come to Homeros for the location; you will stay for the delightful Turkish family experience. Then you will find it hard to leave Selcuk and the Homeros.
Rates include a great breakfast to start the day, and a glass of red wine to watch the sunset and prepare for dinner. Dinner is optional (cooked by Momma).
The clean and comfortable rooms are individually decorated with local antiques, most have en-suite bathroom and air-condition.
Homeros provides free transport to Ephesus, bicycle use and Internet (wireless). Your host is Dervis, assisted by his mother (Momma) and his cheerful sister Oya.

I really can't see why this pension has become number 1 in Selcuk, ahead of the Bella. This is a very run-of-the-mill pension which is overpriced. The rooms are full of ornaments and wall hangings, all of which gather dust. The food was only average (I was served several pieces of rotten fruit over the course of 2 days. No excuse when fruit is so cheap there) and the portions fairly small in the evening meal. The service, however, was good. Shaziye made us feel welcome.

I could not recommend this place more. My boyfriend and I travelled throughout all of Europe and this accommodation was by far our best experience. Dervish, Shaziye and Mama made us feel like we were staying with them in their home. When we arrived we were offered tea and at 7pm each evening they served free glasses of wine on the roof of the pension, where we enjoyed the sunset. A 4 course dinner with offered for only 15 TL and the way in which the place is decorated makes you feel very much like you are in Turkey. They were incredibly helpful: we had to leave at 5am and so they left us a packed breakfast for us to eat on the way to the airport. We certainly recommend staying here.

Its like home! what else do we say, the hotel staff, especially Laura, helped us with everything . The interior decor and the atmosphere is terrific...definitely recommended..and at a great bargain according to me...it would help though, if they could accept credit cards!

This is the best Pension I have stayed at and having traveled all around Turkey for the last 6 years (am currently living here) I have had many experiences. The staff bent over back wards to make our stay comfortable and relaxing with a sense of being part of the family. I totally recommend Homeros.
