Tiare Village is right in the heart of the wonderful island of Rarotonga, Cook Islands. We have a reputation with travellers and tourists alike, for being a friendly, cosy, clean and comfortable establishment.
Tiare Village provides a wide range of accommodation, to suit a variety of guests from backpackers and individuals to groups. We provide Dormitories, Self Contained Pool Units & Chalets. We are nestled in the secluded wooded hills of Rarotonga, approx 2.5 kilometres from the main town on the inland road, north side of the island. Tiare Village is convenient for the airport, shopping, banks, markets, nightlife and just a few minutes away from the Cross Island Walk and the beach in Nikao.
We have an excellent lounge in the main house, which is separate from the bedrooms. Guests can relax, mingle and make new friends, or watch TV. This is also where you'll find the information board and pamphlets of tour activities available. Discounts are offered for various activities and rentals scooters/cars. Bicycles are available for hire on site. A garden and verandah is adjacent to the lounge and is a popular place to read, meet, and socialize with other guests and enjoy the Rarotonga Weather. Also a BBQ and swimming pool is available for your use.
We pride ourselves for being friendly and provide a homely atmosphere. Fresh fruit (pawpaw, bananas, mangos and avocados, guavas and chillies) can be picked fresh from the trees in our garden when in season.

A very pleasant stay and Adrienne was very helpful, doing more than I expected. I would stay again as the price was right.

We enjoyed our stay, the facilities are tired but clean and everything worked as it should.
Manager Adrienne was very helpful, and encourages a friendly atmosphere.
Bicycle hire from Tiare Village was a big PLUS as only motorised bikes, scooters or cars are available elsewhere.
The roosters crow just as loudly here as anywhere else on the island, we found it amusing and relaxing - but then, we did grow up rurally!!
The biggest draw-back was that currently the bus does not pass by Tiare Village's driveway, due to the condition of the public road, but this is under repair, and tour companies etc will come get you!!

Kia-orana my name is Shannon and I am from Aotearoa(New Zealand)I stayed here recently it is very good place to stay if you are on a budget and wanting a good base to explore Rarotonga or outer islands.
The host of Tiare Village is Adrienne and she is a lovely Cook Island lady.Adrienne picked me up at the airport and after we checked in she offered me a ride later into Avarua township which shows how helpful and friendly these beautiful Cook Island people are.
This is a cool place to stay and people are from all over the world and you will make friends straight away here.I stayed in the male dormitory in the main house.This is not a party place so go to Varas Beachouse in Muri for that if thats your kind of thing,so if you want a good quiet private place to stay this is it.
The location of Tiare Village is handy to Avarua township 20-25 min walk or 5min scooter ride.The airport is close 10-15 min walk, so if you have and early departure flight it is a good location because if you are on the other side of the island it can be a hassle and expensive taxi transfer to the airport from NZ$40 onwards.
There is a Whale Centre down the road and Cook Island Master Carver Mike Tavioni opposite the Whale Centre.Try to meet the Rarotongan locals while you here they are very friendly and learn a little bit of there language. I will miss Rarotonga and will be back again soon I would recommend Tiare Village for a place to stay.
PS:WARNING:IF YOU ARRIVE EARLY INTO RAROTONGA PLEASE GO TO BED EARLY THAT NIGHT BECAUSE THERE ARE ROOSTERS EVERYWHERE ON THE ISLAND THEY START SINGING FROM 4AM ONWARDS SO IF YOU ARE A DEEP SLEEPER YOU SHOULD BE ALRIGHT.
we have stayed at tiare village 3x, the first we were impressed, we loved the atmosphere of the place... the second the children loved it! esp. having the pool right outside our room (even though it started going green lol) ... the third we got stung with having to pay extra for a early check of which we were not advised, and had not done so before... then most recently, we had booked out (7 months or so in advance) several poolside units in which we had written confirmation from tiare, only to find out 3 days before we were due to arrive at tiare that they had double booked! (we only found this out, when we sent an email to remind them we were coming, tiare did not advise us prior)... so we were stuck 3 days out looking high and low for other accommodation for 5 couples!... i would no longer recommend tiare at all!
