Our house was built by my father and grandfather in 1935 and remodeled from the 1993 to 1996. We offer our guests bright and comfortable rooms, all with private bathroom and hot water 24 hours a day.
Family owned and operated by Coco and Ana Maria, we are a very friendly and amusing young couple that will make our guests feel at home, and we will gladly help you in any way possible.
We also have a lot of pleasure in helping our guests with any treks or our you may like to enjoy while here in Cusco.
If you want to reserve the traditional Inca Trail we advise you book around 3 months in advance to gaurantee your complete satisfaction without costing you to much money.
El Tuco property has twin, and triple bedrooms for our guests, we also have double rooms.
We are 6 blocks from the main square(10-15 minutes walking) and 3 blocks of archaeological center Qorikancha in Sol Av. (5 minutes walking),
We have just completed our brand new guest bar & kitchen(supermarket only 2 minute walk away!!)

our stay here was amazing. coco was very helpful and gave us some good advise after our machu picchu tour went terrible by the agency.
we would definitely stay here again. from what other ppl said about this place being to far from the centre honestly don't know what they were complaining about.

We booked this hostel (party of four, two separate rooms) for two nights we'd be spending in Cuzco prior to heading to Aguas Calientes. We passed through Cuzco three additional nights and made arrangements to stay at El Tuco during those trips as well. This is a great hostel for budget travelers. The rooms are basic and no frills, but the service is outstanding. Rooms are cleaned daily, breakfast is provided, tea is available all day, and the staff are friendly. Coco, the owner, was incredibly helpful with planning, answering questions, and even opened his bar on the evenings we were traveling back through Cuzco so he could make his delicious pisco sours. The hostel is a short walk to the Plaza de Armas (about a 15 minute walk if you're a slow walker like me), and we didn't have any problem with making the walk several times a day. If you don't want to walk, a taxi is very easy to get (and only 3 soles). We unanimously agreed that El Tuco was worth walking to the plaza. We'd heard stories from travelers who'd stayed on the plaza, lured in by promises of hot water 24/7 and excellent service, only to find that there was no hot water and it wasn't worth two or three times the price to stay there. El Tuco ALWAYS had hot water. We showered at various times during the day and evening and the water was always hot. If you want basic, but excellent service (and guaranteed hot water), El Tuco is a great place to stay.

We spent four nights at Tuco Hostel in September.
Coco and Maria made us really feel as being at home!The place is very clean and the bedrooms big and comfortable.
You can find all the facilities to cook in the kitchen.And for sure Coco´s piscosour is the best of Peru!!

Owners couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. Kitchen facilities great, bag storage no problem. Rooms were large, hot water never failed and really quiet for great sleeps. Thank you for the hospitality

Hi. Me and my wife have stayed at El Tuco for 4 nights.
We enjoyed the stay. We got an excellent service, we got some nice tips about Cuzco. We too liked the place was so quiert and calm.
We found the owners very friendly and carring.
So, if you come to Cuzco, and need a hostel, i can recommend a visit at El Tuco Hostel.

Room was basic but clean as was the adjoining bathroom. Hostel is next to a busy intersection and is a short walk from town centre but if staying in a room that faces onto the road you may have some early morning traffic noise. Coco and team were excellent hosts and very helpful and welcoming plus hosting the most excellent pisco sour evening (you haven't had a proper sour until you have stayed here!) A good value, no frills stay.
The owner was very friendly and helpful.
It was 15 mins walk to the main plaza and our room was faced to the busy street so it was quite noisy. The tooting started very early in the morning... but overall, it was very nice hostel.
My wife and I just got back from Cusco/ Lima. Of all of the hostels we stayed at during our 2 week vacation, El Tuco was, by far, the best. Not only are the rooms clean, roomy with comfortable beds, clean and pretty bathrooms, high ceilings (I am a tall guy and I love this), but the house and property overall is a real beautiful piece of work. The owners are very generous and open to giving their visitors access to the house, the kitchen, and their computer for internet access. Coco is a unique host. He actually is THE host. He answers any questions visitors may have about the history of Cusco or where are the best places to eat or shop depending on the visitors preferences. His hospitality made staying at El Tuco a real treat. He made us and other visitors staying there, some Pisco Sours which we understand he does on a regular basis for his guests. And, he made them really good and used really good Pisco and made them strong, too. And all the ingredients were made from scratch. We drank them at his bar which he decorated and furnished very nicely. A nice hang out and it was a great opportunity for us to meet the other guests which were from Australia, England, and the USA. The location of the hostel was very convenient and near the Avenida del Sol which is the main avenue that leads towards the Main Plaza. The next time we go back, we plan on going back to El Tuco.
