An incredibly attractive place. The location in the old city of Akko is superb. The staff did everything to make us feel at home. Our stay was also very helpful in getting a better understanding of the situation in Israel, thans to the balanced information we got at this hostel. This how a stay in a hostel should be.

The location was great. The smoking was terrible. The staff and owner smoked non stop! The air was bad. Three floors up a narrow stairway. We got no help hauling our bags. The staff was too busy smoking. The bathroom leaked sewage on the floor from the toilet. The water was beyond boiling temp. The bathroom faucet was broken. I told the owner. He shrugged his shoulders and said, "I know." The owner told me he has 3 wives. "The Koran tells me that the man is the boss. I am up here and my women are down here. I tell them when they can come out and when they can come in. I am the boss of them!"
The building is 2,000 years old. In a wonderful part of town. Friendly people but they just want to sit and SMOKE. I had to ask repeatedly for them to stop, but the place stunk of smoke.
Nicely remodeled, but as in many hostels and small hotels, things are broken and not fixed. The water was far too hot and with a broken faucet my grandson was burned. Very dangerous.
Akko is a beautiful town, but very dirty and littered. The beaches are dirty from trash. We watched as locals thew their garbage in the bay while standing next to the trash can. Little regard to keeping things clean.
Beyond that, we had a great time. The town's beauty is masked behind all the garbage and litter thrown down by the locals. Very sad.
