This hotel is great if you really want to stay in the West Bank of Luxor. We would have really liked to stay in east bank of luxor, if we knew more in advance of the luxor city. The main city of luxor is on east bank. While this side is a village side, and west bank is apart just by a 10 min ferry ride from main city or east bank. As far as the hotel is concerned, it is great for someone looking for a budget hotel. The hotel has around 10-12 rooms and is a family run. The owner Mohammed is very helpful and honest. He will go out of the way to accommodate any of your needs. Breakfast is served egyptian way or or international or can be customized to your needs as in our case.

Pros:

• Clean, budget hotel, feel at home.
• On east bank, close to major tombs and some temples.
• Great breakfast customized to your taste.
• Spacious rooms, clean beds.e
• Very helpful staff...

Cons:

• On the main road, could be little noisy. In our case we opted for backside. If you are a sensitive person about noise you should spend more and maybe stay elsewhere.
• No internet service or wifi, during our stay. Had to use cafe down the road.

Overall satisfied with the price paid, the service was good. We tried contacting hotel before, but travellerpoint have listed phone # with one digit missing. Try calling them @ mohammed (01066-366886)

This is a very friendly family run guest house. Ensuite bathrooms. Fridge in the room. Very clean. If they don't have something, they will try to arrange to get it for you.

It's quite new so some things are still being sorted out. They have a little used rooftop restaurant (can seat about 30-40 people) with the most fantastic night time views. You can order a meal - lunch or dinner. Great food but sometimes takes a long time to come so order early,

Breakfast was ok but not much variation.
They allow you to check your emails downstairs, although there is an internet cafe across the road.

The only problem was that there was not always running water in the bathroom, but that just comes with the territory. Once you know this, you can work around it. Very early mornings were better.

Sometimes gets noisy with the traffic, but its just off the main road and I had a room at the front. The good thing was that the tourist buses don't stop off in this little town (which has its own interesting local history that is worth checking out, particularly if you are interested in architecture or the theatre). They run straight through to the main tourist spots but its easy to arrange your own transport to get to the monuments (with the help of the hotel owner)
Also easy to reach the ferry to cross to the East Bank.
Very good value for money, especially if you are travelling on a tight budget, no complaints. Their service was better than some 'starred' hotels I have stayed in.
I stayed for 4 nights and would definitely stay there again.

I stayed at West Bank for a few days with my friend. We're both study abroad students from the US, studying in Cairo. Our stay was wonderful! The hotel is clean and quaint and the rate is excellent. Air conditioning and hot water were both functional. Mohammed, the hotel owner, was honest and trustworthy and very accommodating. And the food was delicious! I felt completely at home. Mohammed also helped us with transportation. He connected us with a fair cab driver who helped took us around to the major tourist spots in Luxor. I stayed in other similarly-priced hostels while traveling Upper Egypt and West Bank was by far the cleanest and comfiest of them all. The hotel is on the Western side of the Nile, away from the main area of Luxor where many tourist facilities (McDonalds, some clothing stores) and the train station are located, so you will have to take the ferry over to the west bank of the nile to get the hotel, but it wasn't at all a problem. You could also take a cab but it will be more expensive. The ferry is cheap and quick, and I like being with the Egyptians more than the tourists.

If you're looking for a place to stay in Luxor West Bank is the place! I wholeheartedly recommend!!

Mohamed - the hotel owner was amazingly service oriented. My first evening he sat down with a welcome tea and helped me plan a great few days in Luxor. He organised a driver (Ali you were right - I got some great photos from the souk!) and felucca trip and everything he recommended was great and a good price. The people were also all incredibly honest & trustworthy. As a woman travelling alone, this was all so fantastic.

The food also deserves a mention - a great breakfast omelette, bread and beans and lunch was amazing, filling and delicious salads, rice and chicken.

Private room with ensuite, air conditioning and TV with hundreds of channels for a great price.

Thanks a lot. Highly recommended.
