RSSBeautiful place at the edge of a Mayan village in the Yucatan jungle. The place is very clean with very friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay there. Thank you, Jorge and Daniel!
You have to check out the amazing cenote which is a 3-minute drive from the place. It was one of the best places I've ever snorkeled! And the food is great there. And cheap too.
It was a wonderfully quiet and enjoyable place to stay. Jorge, the manager, was not available while we were there and his replacement Daniel, while a very nice guy, had a difficult time interacting with the guests and seemed in a little over his head. His English was as limited as our Spanish (!) and we were without the referral resource that we had hoped Jorge would be.
No matter... we did fine, loved the location and will undoubtedly return. YMR was a great place to do 'base camp' and spend a week heading out on day trips. Yokdzonot is centrally located in the Yucatan peninsula, about equidistant from Cancun and Merida, so it is a perfect stay and go location. Comfy digs for the night, comfy hammocks for the day.
The restaurant at the Yokdzonot Cenote is great, inexpensive, and super friendly. They fix the local foods to order by hand and they are delicious. You can walk there from YMR and it was also our favorite cenote for swimming - The cenote has camping sites for tents and is really making an effort to entice people to come, relax and enjoy.

We enjoyed a spectacular four-night stay in the palace on the hill! George was an excellent host who welcomed us in and took us on great tours of the local area, including a night of Maniskey! It is off the beaten track and just far enough away from Chichen to avoid the tourist crowds and relax in a tranquil environment. Whether looking for camping or five star accommodation, we pass on our highest recommendation and look forward to returning ourselves! Make sure to take a tour of the hidden ruins of Yaxunah!
