La Maison Hotel - Petra is as cheap and no frills as you can get. I would recommend it only for its superb location - it is about 100 metres away from the entrance to the Petra Visitors Centre. The reception is nice enough and staff are helpful but the rooms are somewhat disappointing. While clean, they are tiny. During my stay, the air conditioning did not work properly - even at its highest setting it failed to cool the room (it is an archaic lo/mid/hi system - not a thermostat climate control type system). The wardrobes and storage facilities were scratched and doors would not close. Even some basic things that people take for granted in hotels are missing - no bedside lighting, all lighting is turned off by switches next to front door which makes navigating to bed in a tiny room without bumping into something tricky. Room service was also very disappointing, beds were well made but they singularly failed to clean bathroom. Towels were not replaced. They threw away my solitary bar of soap and did not replace it with another. Breakfast was extremely basic - toast with a selection of spreads or omelettes (badly made). I am not particularly picky about hotels which is why I chose La Maison in the first place rather than its more expensive alternatives (e.g. the Movenpick), but it was probably the first hotel I have ever stayed in that I could not wait to leave.

We had such a lovely stay at the Petra Inn. The hotel is clean and the staff was super friendly and most accommodating and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant.
The hotel is ideally located close to the entrance of the park and close to nice restaurants.
The view was not much.
The dining room is currently undergoing renovations.
It was good value for money and I will definitely recommend the hotel.
