I've appreciated being there because it's a very calm place to sleep; I was able to use the free parking; it's located on the main street not very far from downtown; the breakfast is in the basement in a large and bright room; the employees are very friendly; the main hall is large and the price is very reasonable.

We knew the location was a bit "off the beaten track", but if you are not eager walkers, there is a regular bus past the Hotel to downtown. The staff was very helpful (helping us find everything from gas stations to an easy way to the airport), but one of the real benefits was the use of the facility for relaxing outside of the bedrooms whenever we returned from our Montreal jaunts. There is a roomy breakfast area (with piano and toys for children) and a wonderful second floor patio. Additionally, we were able to use kitchen plates, glasses etc. (and, of course, realized we were expected to clean up after our personal use) for snacks or our own simple meals. Breakfast, included in the cost of the room, was available until 11:00 and was much more than cold toast and coffee. It is an old building with a lot of history (from the Canadian Postl to the Catholic Church). Bathrooms are everywhere even if one does not have a room with a private bath and smoking is not allowed in the building. We enjoyed our stay from A to Zed and look forward to using it as a jump-off point on our next trip to Montreal.
