Welcome to Jaime Crazy house, the first hostel In Ovalle. Jaime crazy house is a small, intimate place to stay, where you will feel at home! There is a living room, kitchen available, 2 computers, Wi-Fi, 24 hours.

The staff at Jaimes Crazy House is friendly and will be happy providing you information on the area. They will tell you the easiest and cheapest way to get to Valle del Encanto, sendero chile, monumento natural de pichasca, observatory, lapizlasuli, Wine Tour, fray jorge national park just outside of Ovalle. The hostel is located near the biggest open air market of the region where you can get the widest variety of fruits and vegetables of Chile.

The Location

Just ten minutes' walk from the bus station, which is at the bottom of

town, this hostel is easy to find, and easily identified from the street.

It is in a quiet road just off the main grass square, and is a few blocks

from the central Plaza, which has cafes and restaurants. There are

several supermarkets within a few blocks.

Rooms and Bathrooms

There is currently just one dormitory, with eight beds and a locker each,

and a large window overlooks a ramshackle courtyard. The bathroom is

shared with the family, and is very basic, but has everything you need.

The family hopes to expand the hostel at a later date -- at present it

has been open just a few months.

Common Spaces

The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, large refrigerator, and plenty

of pots and pans. The family runs an internet cafe, with a few terminals

-- internet use is free for guests.

Jaime's Crazy house is located in the centre of Ovalle.

How to find Jaimes Crazy house in Ovalle:

Coming from Santiago de Chile

If you are in the capital of Chile, Santiago, you can take a bus from the Terminal direct to Ovalle (costs about 6000/8000 pesos). This will take about 5/6 hours. When you arrive at the bus terminal in Ovalle, it is a 5 - 10 minute walk to Jaime's Crazy House.

When you leave the bus station ask the first person you see, ¨Where is the center?¨ (donde esta el centro?) They will tell you to walk down this road, and after about 500 meters you will see a big supermarket on your left hand side called Unimar. Keep walking for another 100 meters and you will see a big square. At your left you will see a big police station. The street parallel to this square is the street Tocopilla!

Coming from Arica:

What a lot of people don’t know is that it is possible to take a bus directly from Arica to Ovalle. The price is about 28000 pesos and it will take about 24 hours.
