Chalet Sol - Otavalo is a Cottage surrounded by magical, sacred places of great cultural significance and a cozy, airy feel.

Chalet Sol - Otavalo is an extension of the hotel services of "Hostales Andinas." Chalet Sol - Otavalo has an office located in the city of Quito. The project was initiated in 2002 with the objective of promoting and encouraging responsible and united tourism in the Otavalo area (Province of Imbabura).

Chalet Sol was built with traditional Andean architectural techniques. The clay, the eucalyptus wood, volcanic stones, textiles and other details prepared by the skillful hands of local craftsmen enrich and give form to this captivating place. It is a perfect example of the native culture of the Andes. Every corner reflects Andean historical and cultural legacy.

Our Cottage is more a home integrated into the daily life of the indigenous communities of the sector. "Only promoting work and experience jointly will lead us to the development of new ways of achieving and generating an alternative tourism.

With an exquisite view of the Andean mountains and Valle del manecer (Valley of the Dawn), the eight rooms are equipped with a private bath, chimney, and balconies with access to the gardens. All of them are designed harmoniously to be pleasant, warm and restful. Each one is created with special textures, shades and forms. The Cottage has a dining room area with a big patio, along with a fireplace where you can warm yourself. Our kitchen reflects the ambience. The lounge with a fireplace, dining room, bar - cafeteria, reading area, games and television lounge, meeting room, open spaces and resting places, between others, are some of the various comfortable setting.

Daily menu, a balanced, nutritious dinner and breakfast, is based on traditional Andean food eaten in the countryside. The products used in our kitchen mostly are from Chalet Sol - Otavalo ’s small orchard and of the orchards of its neighbors, cultivated in an organic way with a high level of quality.

From Quito:

At the bus Terminal (“terminal terrestre”), go to the transport company "Los Lagos" and/or "Transportes Otavalo".

The buses to Otavalo leave every 20 minutes (Trip takes about 1:30h)

Keep in mind that at the terminal there are many buses that go in the direction to Ibarra and pass through Otavalo. In which case, disembark at the city of Otavalo and take a bus or taxi to Chalet Sol - Otavalo.

From Otavalo:

3Km. In North-Eastern direction.

At the Terrestrial Terminal, look for the Transport Company “Imbaburapak” and/or “8 de Septiembre,” which are the buses that go to La Cascada de Peguche or to the community of Agato (0:15 min Apro.x of travel).

Another Alternative is to take a taxi.
