ROOTS CAMP, Back to Nature, is located 14km north of EL QUSEIR on the Red Sea in Egypt, some 80km south of Hurghada.
We welcome you to visit Roots Camp and enjoy the nature, the view and the purity of all things you will see at the place you will feel like you are at a very clear climate and a wonderful spot of landscape.
Our camp is a 30 twin sea view stone and thatched bungalow hostel.
The greatest place in the South Oriental Desert on the shore of the Red Sea for the backpacker or holiday maker wishing to dive with our fully equipped diving center or to enjoy camel, horse, jeep and quad safaris in the near-by valleys or visit the remains of the famous spice trading route in El Quseir, one ticket for the citadel offered per booking.
Come and enjoy our spotless catering and sanitary facilities. Traditional Egyptian breakfast, lunch and dinner are available in our camp restaurant, snacks on the beach at reasonable prices. Vegetarian meals are available on request. Bed linen and large bath and beach towels provided free of charge.
Roots Camp is in the center of the mountain and the valley is below Bungalows are designed to be on the top of the mountain with 13 meter height as levels that all Bungalows can easily enjoy watching the sea as if it’s underneath.
Other Bungalows are built to be in the middle of the valley, hills and mountains are around. Looking at them gives you the feeling of comfort and safe

The advertisement of Roots Camp is misleading. At all it isn't a camp anymore, the huts are not in use, instead they built some small houses. The whole place is a dirty construction site (the rooms itself were clean). There is no bar, no dining-hall - everything under construction, but the owner didn't mention about this at all.
On their website they mention a price of $20 (= EP110) for a driver from Quseir to the camp. A regular taxi is about EP30. When we asked for a taxi to departure, they said that they can't call a normal taxi (what they did several times in the days before for other guests) and that we have to take their driver. The employees became very strange although in the days before they were quite cooperative.
This was very unfriendly action. Bbecause of the isolated place there is no choice.
Finally, we managed to call a taxi on our own.At the end we had to discuss about the bill. First they ignored the amount (€15) that we paid in advance via online booking.
Prices for beverages are very high, and not "camp-like".
We cannot recommend this place.
