We welcome groups of 2, 3 or 4 who prefer a relaxed but exciting stay. As Hostelbookers award winners for value, we think we provide the cheapest private rooms in Liverpool. You can cook in our kitchen or enjoy a hot breakfast in our restaurant 7 days a week.Free cold breakfast. Free Wi-Fi. Free non-stop drinks. Very secure rooms though not ensuite. We are NOT suitable for large groups who visit Liverpool only to drink lots of alcohol.

From Liverpool airport take the 86a, 80a from Stand 4 or 501 bus to South Parkway Interchange (10 minutes)from here take the Southport train to Bankhall Station. (22 minutes) Out of the station turn right, the hotel is 100 metres in front of you (the Brasenose Road Cafe is on the ground floor).
From Queen's Square bus station in the city centre take the 53 bus to Bankhall Royal Hotel. Walk down Bankhall Street; the hotel is 100 metres in front of you.
From Moorfields train station in the city centre take the Southport train (Northern Line) to Bankhall (2 stops). Proceed as above. From Central station in the city centre we are 3 stops away.
From Liverpool city centre take a taxi to Bankhall train station; the hotel is 100 metres down the hill.

This hostel has been quite a surprise, a good one.Watching on the map seemed to be right out of the center and it is,but the neighborhood is an industrial area,so the hotel is an isolated building sorrounded by old fabric buildings,abandoned fields and industrial properties, and to me it was really peculiar and liked it. There is a mersey rail station at 1 minute by foot and it takes 10 minutes (it's only 2 stops) away from city center so it's a perfect location considering the good price compared to the city standard. We were two and had a small room but was clean and comfortable. There is a huge common area with sofas,tv,leisure room with a pool and a very big kitchen with free to use wash machine,free breakfast at everytime and a personal fridge to store one's own food. Friendly staff and very clean place, would suggest it to friends

Had a great stay at your hotel and we left a message in your book to say that. The only fault WE had was that the area beside your hotel was covered in dog poo. We had to walk on the road as there was so much poo on the footpath. It was dodge the poo. It's a pity because your hotel was brill. You's should get on to you local council to get the area tidied up and a heafty fine for the owners of dogs that don't clean up after their dogs.

Good hostel, but is located in a industrial area, in the night is a little bit scary but there is nobody in the street. btw the position is good because you can reach the city centre very easily and quickly with the train. There is table tennis and snooker table, internet, and a nice kitchen. The bed was good but my room was a little smelly, but I think because of humidity. Good place

Just back from it today, honestly a great hostel. Staff so very friendly and helpful. Suprisingly good value for money. Rooms cosy, comfy and quite roomy. Bathroom and shower facilities very clean. Common room really big and has everything you could want. The kitchen is very clean and well facilitated with nice little touches like free orange juice in the morning! A literal minute walk from the train station and 2 or 3 quick stops away from liverpool town centre. Definitely would recommend it, especially at the price and value, and will be back again.

Hi i'm ita from subang jaya, malaysia. I've been there on 19 Dec 2010. Overall, i'm satisfied with service provided, friendly welcome from the staff and the location near the train station, just 5 minutes walk. Price per night are reasonable, you can have your breakfast as many as u love for, and anytime you can take ur hot drinks. Next time if i visit liverpool again of course Bankhall will be in my mind..

Initially we were uncertain whether we did the right thing in making a reservation with Bankhall. We came out of the underground station and looked at each other because it was an industrial estate and completely deserted. It felt like something out of the movie Hostel. The place smelt of damp and we were begining to regret we came there. However, once in our room, it was clean so were the toilets and showers. After a while we realised how great the place was. There were all the facilities you needed in the kitchen including making tea, coffee and cakes any time. There was internet and great TV as well as a snooker and table tennis table. My friends and I agree it was a great place to stay and we would stay againg dispite the location; it is only three stops by underground into Liverpool Central and only £5 by cab. Great value!!

Dont be put off by first appearances!
The hotel is situated a little out the way and the building itself has seen better days, but on arrival we found the manager to be extremely friendly and helpful and the room itself was spacious and clean and tidy.
We had all the facilities we needed (internet, kitchen, pool table, sky tv in the lounge area) and there were no issues with the shared bathrooms or toilets.
Bankhall represents great value for money, dont expect the Ritz but if you're looking for somewhere 5 mins in a cab from town to crash for the night its perfect.
