Welcome to Kipps Hostel, a friendly backpackers hostel in Canterbury

We are located about 10 minutes walk to the famous Canterbury Cathedral and the Town Centre , situated in a quiet residential area of Canterbury.
Set in a beautiful 120 year old town house, we offer a wide range of BUDGET accommodation from dormitory rooms to single and double/twin rooms, - suitable for both groups and individuals.

The hostel reception is open between 7h30 and 23h00 Monday to Sunday and on public holidays. Check-in time is after 2pm until 11pm
THERE IS NO CURFEW.
Kipps is within easy walking distance of the City centre, the main line railway and bus/coach stations. So come and pay us a visit in our World Heritage historic city, and enjoy our comfortable, clean and homely hostel!
Kipps is an ideal centre from which to explore the Kent Countryside known as the garden of England. Parking is free on road with restrictions applying only from 1200hrs to 1600hrs on weekdays.
Seaside resorts of Whitstable and Herne Bay are within easy cycling distance with regular bus services from Canterbury. Further a field are Dover castle, Leeds castle and Dover cross channel port for easy day trips to France.

In one word - excellent. Kipps was an important step for me, in a pretty exciting journey, moving to the UK with no real purpose directions or certainty, and I can certainly say I am glad I chose them. The accommodations offer you everything you need for a comfortable stay, beds are comfy and plenty of warm blankets to keep you comfy through the chillier nights in the area. You can come and go as you please and safe storage is provided so you can keep your valuables secure (I didn't use them myself, but they are there).
Best part about Kipps is really none of the above, but rather the people working there, one of the friendliest, welcoming and most beautifully diverse bunch of people I've ever met. Their special nights really make you feel at home and give you a chance to get to know others in a very mixed and otherwise hard to relate in situation. DO NOT MISS THE KIPPS EVENTS! They are the heart of this place and you will love them.
Quite possibly the best hostel you'll ever get to stay at, and certainly the best in Kent! Don't hesitate to book your stay with them.
(No, noone paid me to write this, I was just THAT pleased with my stay there and they made a big difference in what was an strange and quite lonesome period of adjustment. Props!)

I was very pleased with my stay at Kipps. It was only for one night, but it gave me a good impression of how good this hostel is: a nice atmosphere, clean room, close to the city centre, what more could you ask for? :-)
