The Hotel Bracamonte is one of the first businesses that offered accommodation to tourists of Huanchaco.

My name is Marco Bracamonte; I started an informal family business along the Huanchaco shores that began in 1977. Two South Africans were looking for a place to stay in Huanchaco but during the time there was no place to stay. By coincidence my son Carlos met the South Africans and offered them a room with bath available in our property. The couple stayed for two months at daily rate of two dollars, a few weeks later some British travelers, sent by the South Africans, also vacationed in our room. These experiences enabled us to build 2 additional rooms. I, Marco Bracamonte, by that time was a professor at the National University of Trujillo; since my salary was not enough I thought that this small business would assist the family income. My sons were in charge of verbally informing the tourists of our 3 rooms. The business success led to the addition of 4 more rooms. In 1982 we became an official Hostal with 15 rooms.

The Hostal Bracamonte is now a 3 stars Hotel and has being considered for 5 years in a row as the best 3 Stars Hotel in Huanchaco.

It is a calm and pretty area, you will not hear the noise of cars but you will hear many birds that live nearby the hostel and park.

The Hotel is also located a few minutes away from Trujillo airport, several archaeological sites and the colonial city of Trujillo.
