Arrifana Youth Hostel is a brand new purpose-build hostel offering modern, comfortable and well-equipped facilities. Located in an excellent spot for surf and body board lovers, Arrifana has a relaxed atmosphere and it is well known for its long stretch of sand sheltered by cliffs with a picturesque fishing port.

Arrifana, a year round favorite beach with surfers and body boarders, is also ideal for nature lovers or simply for people looking for relaxing. Located in Costa Vicentina Natural Park, in the south west coast of Portugal, Arrifana is one of the prettiest beaches with a reputation for fine grilled fish and for stunning natural landscapes, providing an excellent example of balance between human settlement and the natural environment. From here is worth it to explore further south along the coast, where are the beaches of Bordeira and Amado (Carrapateira), which have hosted national and international surfing and body boarding events, until Sagres that housed the famous nautical school founded by the Infante D. Henrique in the 15th century. If you have the energy and desire to stray from the beaten track, albeit with difficult access, it�s possible to discover many other beaches that have been preserved in a virtually unspoilt state.

Hostelling International membership card is required. Portuguese can buy it directly at any hostel. Foreigners should buy it in their home countries otherwise a supplement of 2� per night/per person will be charged to non-members.
