Hotel Esen, Istanboel, Turkijë

Arriving at the hotel the receptionist said something about a problem with the booking, so no one room was available. So he "helped" us by accomodating us at a hotel of a friend of his, 10 meters near but.....a real wreckage! A quarter of the value we paid for!!
One night in this black hole and the day after we changed for Esen (it was what we paid for) but...a misunderstanding: the hotel name was correct but the address was of another hotel: Evsen hotel. So he helped us again by accomodating us at another hotel of a friend of his, This time the accomodation was good and we spent there the remaining time but 2 questions are due:
1) where was gone the 10% we paid for booking?
2) every payment was by cash and without any receipt (although we asked for it)...why?
Don't trust this hotel.

we feel very unfortunate to book and stay in this hotel. It is very noisy, unclean and very basic place to stay.The management put a double bed in a small single roon, tell you and charge you for a double room price.There is no lift installed in the hotel. the guests have to walk up the stairs to 1st, 2nd, 3rd floor or 4th floor to their rooms.

We made total payment of our bill in cash, inspite of repeated reminders the manager did not give us a receipt for parment.

During the day or at night this is a noiseast place to stay. In the neighbouring street restaurants music is played till 2 o'clock in the morning.

We will never consider to stay in this hotel again nor we shall recomand anyone this
hotel.
Only positive point about this hotel is that it is close to Metro line and Main Railway Line station and Sultan Ahmet central tourist area of Istanbul.

Please, please, please avoid this hotel. Very poor in all areas and spooky eg on returning to our room some one had eaten some of our food, what else had they gone through I ask ??. Lots of leaks from toilets, showers etc. One or 2 of the staff were ok but they were generally disinterested and could not communicate very well. Therea are lots of other good options , we checked out after trying different rooms and found a lovely cheap hotel in Sultanahmet ( Hotel Emre - give it a go !! )
