Burnbrae is a 4 Star Bed and Breakfast in Arrochar overlooking Loch Long and looking onto the famous “Cobbler” and the Arrochar Alps. Whether the sun is shining, or the rain is pouring down, the view is truly exceptional.

Accommodation comprises:

Two spacious guest rooms, both of which have en-suite bath or shower rooms; with one double room, and one twin, we can comfortably accommodate couples, individuals, or small groups. Our twin room is decorated in the style of Charles Rennie Macintosh. In our double room, the kingsize sleigh bed is the ultimate in comfort. Furniture in both rooms has been made to order by local craftsmen. Each room has a seating area for reading, or just relaxing while watching the ever changing view. Accommodation includes tea and coffee making facilities, trouser press, radio alarm clock and a television and video. We have an extensive range of videos, which you are more than welcome to borrow.

Our private garden has a burn running alongside it, which will lull you to sleep. The garden has attracted 27 different species of bird, as well as squirrel and the resident heron.

With Loch Lomond just two miles away, Helensburgh, Luss, and Inveraray all within 25 minutes drive and Glasgow and Stirling within an hour's drive, Burnbrae provides the ideal touring base. Glasgow airport is only a 40 mins drive away, while Arrochar & Tarbet train station is just 1½ miles from the house.

Travelling North from England and the Borders:

Continue along the M74 until Junction 4

Branch left to join M73 (signposted Stirling)

At Junction 2, branch left to join M8 (signposted Glasgow City Centre)

At Junction 17, leave Motorway (signposted Dumbarton) and turn right at traffic lights onto A82

Continue along A82 following signs to Dumbarton and then Crianlarich

Follow Signs to Crianlarich until you reach Tarbet

At Tarbet, continue straight on towards Campbeltown on the A83

Arrochar is 1.6 miles past Tarbet

From Glasgow Airport (34 miles from Arrochar) NB: Have ready 60p per car for the Erskine Bridge tollbooth

From front of Airport terminal building, follow one way system, follow signs to Motorway M8 (joining at Junction 30). Then follow signs to Greenock M8

Branch left on to M898 (signposted Erskine Bridge)

Take road onto Erskine Bridge – pay at tollbooth

Cross Erskine Bridge and branch left to join A82 towards Crianlarich

Follow Signs to Crianlarich until you reach Tarbet

At Tarbet, continue straight on towards Campbeltown on the A83. Arrochar is 1.6 miles past Tarbet

From Glasgow City Centre:

From the centre of Glasgow, there are regular trains from Queen Street Station (about a ten minute walk from Central Station). Trains take 1 hour 10 minutes and arrive at Arrochar and Tarbet station – 2 mins from Mansefield House. The last train departs Glasgow at 18.12

There is a regular coach service which travels to Arrochar from the centre of the city, taking 1 hour 15 minutes. The last coach departs Glasgow around 18.00
