Villa Welwitshia - Small Hotel, Carvoeiro, Portugal

The tradition of this family house takes on a journey through several generations of fishermen from the village of Carvoeiro, formerly called Praia do Carvoeiro, situated just 5km from Lagoa and about 40 minutes from the airport of Faro.

Before the arrival of tourism, the majority of the inhabitants here had to seek life elsewhere: that is why José went to Angola.

In 2001, in a return to their origins in Carvoeiro, they acquired Villa Welwitshia.

Armanda organizes and manages this house so that everything is in order for the costumer, and to be sure that nothing fails. Armanda bakes gorgeous cakes. She spends much of her time cooking them. She is always trying new recipes, and customers are the first to taste Armanda's delicious sweets.

José is in love with the sea, and it is unthinkable to live without it. When the to dos of his small hotel allow him, José can be found in his workshop, where his skilled hands build replicas of boats on which he sailed, or ancient ships of the discovery in homage to his ancestors.

José and Armanda invite you to visit this unique fishing village. Its small beach, shaped in a bay and surrounded by houses, is a postcard of rare beauty. Villa Welwitshia is proud of becoming part of this scenario.

0.3 Km- Follow the sign towards A22;

2.5Km - Follow the sign towards A22 Portimão;

2.9 Km - Turn Right Towards Portimão / Loulé IC4; *you are now on the IC4 / EN 125 ;

7.9 km – Stay left and follow IP1;

10.8 km - now follow the Lisboa /Albufeira*you are now on the A22 motorway;

53 Km - follow it until exit 6 Lagoa/ Silves;

You are now leaving the A22;

at the first roundabout you take the 3rd exit, following the sign Carvoeiro;

at the 2nd round-about you take the 2nd exit towards Carvoeiro;

follow Carvoeiro; follow Lagoa Sul until the end;

turn right at the 1st traffic light towards Carvoeiro;

at the round about turn left towards Carvoeiro;

follow until the center of Carvoeiro, then turn left towards the beach.
