The Light House Hostel a unique hostel in Edinburgh, A beautiful large Georgian Townhouse in the artistic neighbourhood of Edinburgh; nearby are two art house cinemas, theatres and Edinburgh Castle. The Light House is a spectacular place to stay - we even have our own cinema. We accommodate a maximum of 24 guests providing a convivial atmosphere with plenty of privacy.

Free breakfast, free tea and coffee, free high speed Wi-Fi, free internet access on a desktop computer, free lockers in the rooms, free towels.

Our hostel is unique. Our kitchen and living facilities are excellent; there is a double bed in each of the rooms for couples and families: Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple Rooms. We shall do our best to place you in your room of choice. However, we reserve the right of flexibility to be sensitive to issues of gender. No shoes are worn in the Light House; a shoe rack is provided at the entrance. There is a no smoking policy anywhere in Light House - however there is a bench and a wee bucket at the front of the house where you can have a puff.

Any guest under the age of 18 can stay in a private room with a family member who is over 21. Please be aware there are different conditions for August and New Year because of the Festivals; ask for details. Please ask about long term rates; there are excellent low season rates. Check-in is after 15:00 only - and till 22:00.

Check-out by 10:30.

Reception is open from 9:00 to 22:00.

Cancellation policy is 72 hrs in advance.
