Star Hostel is a very clean and modern B&B for travellers in Taipei. My overall experience at STAR was comfortable, safe and satisfying, considering the fact that i'm only paying for a bed and not a room. A German freind I made during my stay had high ratings for this hostel too. Situated near Zhongshan station which is one stop away from the main Taipei station, getting around was easy and convenient.
Besides the fact that the staff there are less personal and available for chit-chats as compared to other hostels that I had stayed in before, I would strongly recommend this hostel to backpakers to Taipei. You will enjoy the company of friends from Korea, Germany, US etc and you'll also get to enjoy nice fruits and toasts for breakfast everyday - FOC yet healthy and appetizing ;)

The hostel is located in city area with easy access to public transportation, shops, food outlets and bank yet quiet when remain indoor (all windows are double glazed windows). There is spacious sitting area for guests, in addition, equipped with necessary facilities, such as hot/cold drinking water, kitchenette, PC and self service laundry which make guests feel at home. Staff are friendly and helpful (who offer their help to bring our luggage to room by climbing up the stairs). I won't feel hesitate to recommend the hostel to my friends.

Actually it is nice, just a big problem of without a lift in the building, we had to move our heavy baggages up to 4/F.

And there were ants in the room.

There are 4 of us, so we booked the bunk-bed room. Eventhough we only stayed for a night, it was a great stay. The atmosphere there makes you feel so at home & they are so friendly, every ready to answer your queries.
