NISHIYAMA RYOKAN is a comfortable, quiet Japanese style hotel, while located in the center of Kyoto City and near Shijo Kawara-machi Street and Shinkyogoku Shopping area which are very popular among foreign tourists.

We have renovated our ryokan in 2008 and registered to Hostel World again from 2010 JUNE.

Guests can enjoy a small waterfall in the garden where you can relax with the sound of its water running through.There are English speaking staffs available at the front desk, so please feel free to ask anything - places to go, eat, and anything about Kyoto!! Most rooms are Japanese-style room with Futon bedding and they are clean and comfortable.

Facilities include public baths for men and women, internet access, a dining room, a Japanese garden. Public bath is open from 4:30PM to midnight and from 7AM to 8:30AM.

In the lobby, there are laptop computers connected to internet which you can use free of charge! Wifi connection available too. Curfew is midnight and we have lock-out.

There will be a bath towel, a face towel with a toothbrush and paste, a soap, hair dryer Yukata (Japanese light robe can be used as bathrobe) in the room for each person.

Meals available by order. Dinners will be served in the dining room.

Japanese traditional KAISEKI cuisine for dinner and a healthy Japanese breakfast.

Dinner: 18:00, 18:30, 19:00, 19:30

Breakfast: 7:30, 8:00, 8:30

Please check in by 19:00 for the last dinner serving time 19:30.

We can NOT serve dinner other then our specific time.

*December 31st and January 1nd, 2nd is 10000yen for dinner and 3000yen for breakfast.

*We now have Vegetarian Kaiseki. However, it contains Fish Broth. For details please email us.

We can keep your luggage at the front desk before you check in and after you check out.

We accept major credit cards.

Most of our public areas are NON-Smoking but you can smoke in your own room, outside the entrance and hall in basement.

From 1st of January 2011 there will be Smokefree at every guest rooms.
