Built in the Genroku era of Edo, Ryokan Tsuruya is a cozy, simple and calm two-storied wooden building. Our onsen is 100% pure natural hot spring, and we have a small family bath which can be reserved for private use. Wireless internet connection is available in the lobby and some of the guest rooms. Transportation service to the nearest train station, Besho-Onsen Station, is available at all times.
We have 12 Japanese style guest rooms. All rooms are on the 2nd floor. There is air conditioning, and a bathroom in all rooms. The size and style of the rooms are different, and you can enjoy different view from each room. Our courtyard is a Japanese style garden. At night, giant flying squirrels can be seen flying in the courtyard.
The Besho Onsen is also famous as Nanakuri Onsen. Our onsen is called Gensai-yu, where the famous monk Gensai used to visit in Kouan Kamakura Era (from 1278 until 1287). We have both in-door and out-door onsen, and family bath. Our onsen is pure natural hot spring. We do not add water, and we only adjust the temperature. The color of water varies from season to season. It can be green, yellow, white or blue.
The Besho Onsen area is also called 'Kamakura in Shinshu'. It is famous for its history. Ueda Castle, Daihouji Temple and Sanjun Tower, Jyorakuji Temple, Jyorakuji Art Gallary, Anrakuji Temple and Hakkaku-Sanjun Tower, etc, are great sightseeing spots for people who are interested in Japanese history.
We serve delicious seasonal Japanese cuisine, for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We have a banquet hall with a stage, and a conference room that can hold up to 50 people. You can also enjoy Karaoke or playing the piano.
We can speak a little English, and we welcome guests from all over the world.

From JR Shin-Osaka Station to JR Tokyo Station, by Nozomi Shinkansen, 153 minutes.

From JR Nagoya Station to Shinonoi Station, by Wide-view Shinano Express train, 164 minutes.

We are located 7 minutes walk from Besho-Onsen Station. After getting outside the station, Route 82 is right in front of you. Walk south-west direction on Route 82 for 1 min until the road splits. Stay left and you will be walking on Route 177. Walk for about 5 min until a crossroad, where Route 177 makes a right-angled turn. Get off Route 177 and keep walking straight forward on a narrow road for half a minute, and you will see us on the right side of the road.
