Dating back to the 18th century, Fattoria Quercia al Poggio was once a rural village home to a small community of farm workers consisting of around 10 families. The village was completely self sufficient: shepherds, farmers and woodcutters exchanged their goods and the remainder was then sold at the market. Vallombrosan monks also resided here up until two centuries ago.

FROM THE NORTH:

Take the "A1" autostrada and exit at "Firenze Impruneta".

After the ticket gate take the superstrada in the direction of Siena and exit at "San Donato". At the stop sign start your odometer and turn left heading for "Castellina in Chianti." After exactly 6km you will find a road on your right for "Monsanto" (Quercia al Poggio is also signposted here). Continue along this road for another 5/6km following for Monsanto and keeping to the left when in doubt. You will find a dirt road on your right signposted for Quercia al Poggio (careful as the sign is facing the wrong way). Follow this road right until the end until you come to our gate and reception, a further 400 meters on your left.

FROM THE SOUTH:

Take the Firenze/Siena superstrada and exit at "Poggibonsi nord". At the roundabout turn right for "Barberino Val d’Elsa" but be careful as the turnoff for "Monsanto-Olena" is after just 50 meters to your right. (Quercia al Poggio is also signposted here). After about 750 meters there is a cypress in the middle of the road, turn right here for "Monsanto" (there is another sign here for Quercia al Poggio). Continue along this road until you see the sign for Monsanto which is crossed out indicating that you are leaving Monsanto. 100 meters after this sign you will find our driveway on the left. Don’t stop at the first group of houses but go straight to the end of the dirt road where you will find our gate and subsequently reception, 400 meters further along on your left.
