welcome to our 4,000 hectare private game reserve located in Mpumalanga Province, South Africa. Meaning "place of the rock" in the local Swazi tongue, Kwa Madwala lies on the southern side of Kruger National Park. Kwa Madwala is one of the few places on earth that offers Elephant Back Safaris, Microlight Safaris, as well as Horse Back Safaris and a range of the best combination of game viewing experiences all on site in the reserve.

The reserve offers an excellent overall game viewing experience and is host to 4 of the big 5 with no
buffalo at this stage, however options are always available to combine a 4 x 4 open vehicle safari
in the Kwa Madwala Private Game Reserve with that of a safari into the
Kruger National Park which is recommended.
A once farmers house this superb setting is postioned in the middle of the Kwa Madwala Reserve and is inclusive of lounge, dining area, boma, and swimming pool.
Accommodation is flexible and the 5 on suite rooms can be made up in any one of the following ways so as to accommodate various budgets.
The Lodge has been structured to accommodate and afford students, backpackers and those on
restricted budgets to experience the best available activities, safari programs and experiences in a
conservation and big game environment.

The backpacker was originally a farm house and is made up of eight bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms. Driving by car from Johannesburg
* Take the M12 which becomes the N4 towards Maputo through the town of Nelspruit.
* From Nelspruit drive towards Malelane/Komatipoort (N4)
* You will drive through the Nkomazi Tollgate which is approx 50km from Nelspruit and then to the town of Malelane.
* Drive east on the N4 from Malelane.
* 1km before the town of Hectorspruit take the second turning right onto the R570 towards Jeppes Reef, signposted Kwa Madwala/Low Hills and Inkuba Game Farm.
* Continue for 4.5km till you see a sign for Kwa Madwala and Strydomblok Road on your left
* Turn left and continue for a further 4.5km until you see the Kwa Madwala turnoff on your left clearly visible by the lion’s head logo.
* After 300m you will arrive at the security entrance gate to the Reserve.
* There you will need to pay the conservation fee of R100-00 per vehicle and will be given a map.
* Private vehicles travel 5km on a dirt road to the guest parking area.
