Very homey.. Aplace i would want to stay whenever im in KK... the review i've read on the net is true- place is clean, staff are friendly and very accomodating at a cheaper price.

Very welcoming - it was a public holiday, so the owner picked us up from the airport in his car and gave us a tour of the city!
The hostel was perfectly clean, had comfortable beds, hot showers and a lovely breakfast with a wide range of fruit, fruit juice, sticky rice, cakes and toast.

Masada was really a great location, friendly people, very good service, mice and very clean rooms. All well organized. I realy can advise it to anyone.
The owner is a great man, very friendly, wanted even to give us a ride to the airport and so on....I can't find anything negative about this place. Thanks Masada for giving us a great stay!!!!p.s.: they have a great coffee machine!!!

The stay was incredible. Hostel is definitely the best I stayed in compared to European ones as well.
Staff is always available for help and always they have smile on their face and that is true smile not a fake one. Also they keep the hostel spotless clean.
Owners visit the premises at least once per day. They actually care for their guests problems, wishes and always help.
At the end of my stay the owners offered free transport from hostel to airport. And I found out from other guests that you may request transport from airport to hostel as well.
Breakfast is offered without any time limitations or restrictions. There is toast, butter, marmalade, cereal, milk, tea, coffee, various fruits, and small pastry (sweet or salty) available through the day (from midnight to midnight). Also multiple times ice cream Popsicle are available to guests free of charge.
Map of Kota Kinabalu is provided at the hostel.
Otherwise cup noodles and soft drinks including beer are available for purchase.Since Kota Kinabalu is quite small you have all the good food in walking distance. You can always ask staff for the best choice and you'll probably be happy with their suggestion. Also ask for laundry since the one opposite the hostel is more expensive then the others.
Guests in hostel look to be influenced by the spirit of owners and staff and also good ambient, so you'll find most of them always in good mood and willing to help or join the adventures.
