Located in a spectacular heritage building, Home @ The Mansion is Melbourne's newest and most striking backpackers! With a completely new fitout, guests can enjoy brand new facilities teamed with the best customer service! With only 95 beds you can be assured a more personal experience provided by staff whom enjoy their job!
Our dorm rooms comprise of 4, 5, 6, 7, and 12 bed rooms. Each room has a big sunny window, very high ceilings with beautiful ornate features and of course all have brand new beds, mattresses and linen. For added luxury every room has a flatscreen tv!

There are spanking new bathrooms on each floor ,some of which are fully self contained ie a single toilet, shower and hand basin in one room. Some dorms have the added bonus of a hand basin in the room and the 12 bed dorm has its own toilet and hand basin.
We only have 2 private rooms, therefore it is essential to book in advance! Each of these rooms has a nice sunny window, high ceilings with beautiful ornate ceilings, a double bed, flatscreen tv, and clothes rail.
These rooms are small and this is reflected in the very reasonable price charged!
Our facilities include a communal tv room/kitchen, laundry, bbq area, big sunny garden, internet access, $3 per hour wifi, luggage storage, tour information and bookings. Enjoy the company of your fellow travellers at our complimentary 'Wine & Cheese Night' and our 'BBQ Nights'.
Home @ The Mansion is the full package, excellent location with brand new facilities and furnishings, friendly and helpful staff and small enough to get to know fellow guests.

Generally we enjoyed our stay at the Mansion. The room (private double) was small but sufficient and the kitchen facilities were good with plenty of cooking equipment. The garden was also lovely. The service from the reception staff was variable; one staff member was terrific and very helpful, the other seemed a bit incompetent! Would not advise staying here if you are driving as parking was a nightmare but we eventually did a deal with a hotel on Brunswick Street for a $12 daily rate in their car park.

The place wasn't bad at all...the room my friend and I got was a private room, and was very small - but cost $80 a night.
Good location, about a 10 minute walk from the main city centre
Quite clean, the staff are all awesome, very friendly
