Our hotel is located in Cologne district of Muelheim. Our reception desk is open 24/7.
We offer our guests overnight-stays for small prices in either a single or a double room or even morebedrooms, which nearly all include private bathrooms, color-TV and wireless internet-connection, which is free of charge for our guests. Just contact reception staff to get the necessary code. For our business guests we offer a conference room for your meetings, as well.
We also recommend you to try our continental breakfast for only € 7,50.
Just a few minutes from our hotel you will find the tradefair, event-locations like Lanxess-Arena, Palladium and E-Werk, the TV-studios of German television broadcast Pro7 and, of course, the heart of Cologne, the Rhine river.
We are well reachable by public transport: Only 3 minutes to walk from the subway stations “Bahnhof Muelheim”, where also regional trains stop, or “Wiener Platz”.
It´s also only eight minutes to the major transport hub of Cologne Central Station, to the cathedral and the city center. And to the airport it will not take you longer than approx. 20 minutes. If you are arriving by car, it´s less than 1 km to the next highway exit.
Directly in front of our maindoor you will find a small but nice shopping-street. On the left-hand side when leaving our house, there is a supermarket, which is open from monday till saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., at the right-hand side there is a pizzahouse, which also delivers directly to your room.
And a after a long day just relax in our lobby, play cards, drink a beer or any nonalcoholic drink and enjoy your time.

The Cologne City Hotel is located outside the actual city of Cologne by about 5 km. Although Cologne is accessible by public transportation, that is not readily understood when reading the description of the hotel online.
I understood why my particular room was ridiculously inexpensive when I saw it. This is a building where "the elevator does not go all the way to the top floor." I selected a room with a shared bath. These rooms are located on the top floor, and one must take the elevator to the floor just below, then climb the stairs to the top (2 flights).
Once in my room, I noticed the smell. The carpet was filthy. The small table in the room (approx. 2' diameter) held a small television with the satellite dish box on it, so it left no room for anything else. There was a chair and the bed. There was no telephone or intercom in the room, to call down to the desk. The sink was small with a shelf above it, and the 2-rod swivel-type towel rack. There was also an IKEA-style wardrobe (with hangers) and no coat hooks at all. The windows opened completely, which was good, considering the smell.
I had two empty bottles I planned on re-using during my travels. The housekeeping took them, but left the in-house coffee cup and spoon in the room for two days. I suspect they wanted the deposits from the bottles.The dining room was large and the wait staff (one woman) was not friendly or welcoming. The food selection was small, as were the quantities. There were 3 of us in the dining room at the time.
When I mentioned my observations about the room, the reception told me the carpet had been replaced "last year," that none of the rooms had telephones, and since I requested a shared bath, all of those rooms were on that floor. I recommended that since they have many guests with daypacks, perhaps they could install one (or two) coat hooks in the room so guests could hang their daypacks (instead of hanging them on hangers in the wardrobe).
She also said the hotel would be undergoing refurbishment next year, that the hotel is old and it was not possible, due to age, to re-wire the building (I don't know how others do it, then, and the building's not THAT old).The best things I can say about this hotel are: The hotel has a grocery store NEXT DOOR, a butcher shop just down the street, several bakeries within steps of its door, and accessible, free internet you can use in your room. Although my room rate was ridiculously low, I would not choose to stay there again.

Friendly staff and good location.
TV had only 4 channels, all in german, so be sure to take your laptop or a book, like me.
The wifi was free and they even had a PC you can use.
They offer only breakfasts, but i had my airplane at 8 so i coudn't test it.
Concluding, pretty good hotel :P
