Russell Scott hostel is a newly refurbished building which was recently converted to a hostel and is located in a prominent locality 10 minutes from the town center. The property situated on a hill side in a prominent residential area of Upperthorpe.
There are good transport links (Bus & Trams) to the university campus which is 2 tram stops i.e 5 minutes by tram and easy access to the city center by tram.
The city center is a 15 minute walk away. major chain supermarkets are only a few minutes walk away.

Really friendly owners. I've had a good time at Russel Scott Hostels. Cheap AND good services, where do you find that these days? --> at Russel Scott Hostels. I will recmmend the hostel to everybody who is looking for a cheap place to stay, but who is also searching for a safe and friendly place.

Location is fine - a little out of the city centre, but easily accessible by tram and a short walk. Low-cost, and the staff were friendly.
Bear in mind that, although bed linen is provided, towels are not. When we stayed, neither of the showers in the first floor bathrooms were working properly - suddenly going incredibly hot or freezing cold without warning

Be careful not to expect much for your money. The sheets and bathrooms are pretty clean, but i cannot say the same for the house itself. The walls are decaying, i have come across of some bugs, too, and the smell in the kitchen is not something everyone could stand. The room was pretty poorly furnished and yes, it's true: they don't lock the front door, not even at night, so safety is not something you will feel while staying here. The staff was pretty friendly, though and the location of the hostel is not that bad either. So, on the whole, i wouldn't recommend it to anyone traveling alone (especially women), anyone who would like to go to the hostel for more than just sleeping and anyone who expects more than a student dormitory.

It was very clean and warm. There were a lot of power outlets. The beds were nice. There was no mirror in the room
. The kitchen smelled weird but it had everything we needed to cook a meal. Except there was barely any cutlery.
But the staff was very helpful.
It looks sketch from the outside but inside was perfect. Good Good shower. Legit.
Thank you Russel Scott for making our Sheffield experience so wonderful! We love you 4eva.
