Our turn of the century building has been restored from the ground up to suit the needs of the most discerning traveler. The property has been renovated and rebuilt into a purpose-designed hostel incorporating the latest in green technology: geothermal heating, photovoltaic electrical production, solar thermal water heating, building-wide LED lighting and wastewater heat reclamation.
Secure dorms have custom-designed hotel style ensuite bathrooms, private locker areas and extra comfy memory foam mattresses to ensure the best night's sleep you'll ever have away from home. Cook up a feast in our fully-appointed kitchen or relax and meet other travelers in our beautifully designed common area, which features a fireplace, phone booths, a dining hall and an awesome couch where you can watch TV and movies on our flatscreen television.
Free breakfast is served daily in our rooftop lounge, where you can also enjoy panoramic views of the Toronto skyline and play X-Box Kinect with new friends.
Our location in the heart of downtown Toronto is minutes away from the best the city has to offer. Kensington Market, Little Italy, the Annex and Chinatown are literally at our doorstep. These neighbourhoods are famous for their diverse mix of bars, restaurants, cafes and great shopping opportunities.
We're also very close to the Royal Ontario Museum, the Art Gallery of Ontario, the University of Toronto and the Bay Street Bus Terminal.

I enjoyed my stay there very much. The hostel is new and shows consistently good quality.
Each room has its own bathroom. You get towels and linen are warm duvet.
Every saturday, the host makes a great BBQ for free on the roof top. From here can you enjoy the Toronto Skyline. Unfortunately, the roof top closes at midnight. During the daytime can you chill out on a large lounge sofa.
Everything there was made with much loves and also of little things was thought (dishwasher, rice cooker, iron and breakfast till 1 pm!!!)
I've checked in two times and I´ll do it at the next Toronto Trip definitely again.

I really wanted to like this place; on paper it sounds great, with all the important touches and more. However, reality during our visit showed this place to be understaffed and undermaintained. Airconditioning broke on the 2nd day we stayed here, and still was broken when we checked out on the 5th day. The stove was broken during our entire stay (two crappy portable electric heaters replaced it), the doorbell was broken during our entire stay, one of the dishwashers was 'broken' (missed a tray) during our entire stay, WiFi was badly configured and only usable during non-peak hours, etc.
The single person staffing front-desk was friendly when present, but most of the time wasn't present, apparently running errands throughout the hostel (yet never managing to get around to freeing up the overflowing dishwashers, which apparently also was part of their tasks).
Rooms are extremely sparse; a bed and nothing more (a hook on the wall or a bedside table wouldn't be too much to ask, would it?); soundproofing from the outside is excellent, but soundproofing from the inside of the hostel is non-existent, which sucks as all rooms have these heavy hotel-style doors which lock with very loud clicks, easily keeping you up deep into the night.
The few positives to this place would be its rooftop area with nice views over the Toronto skyline, its location (just south of the great restaurants and shops on Bloor and Harbord Street) and the awesome hours for (the quite decent) breakfast: 7:00 (or similarly early) up to 13:00!

I stayed there for 2 weeks.
All staffs and guests are friendly and kind. I enjoyed a lot!Only one thing is.... Sometimes I can't use WiFi I don't know why.(other guests said same thing).
So Overall is 4 stars. Other things is ALL GREAT!

The place is great. It is brand new, has a friendly staff, great location, nice kitchen, great internet, fireplace, tv, upstairs balcony. It would be great if the bathrooms and the rooms had a few shelves and hooks. The floors should be swept before the rooms are given out. I had a private room and it had a few dust bunnies living under the bed. The sheets and towels were very clean. The breakfast was very basic the morning I was there but I heard that sometimes there are pancakes. Finally this is an amazing LEED certified facility with heat exchangers, grey water, and solar panels.
