Welcome to Explorers Adventure Base Camp. The most affordable hostel in a 5 star location, where one gets mesmerised by the beauty and overwhelmed with fun and friendly faces. Place like no other and an experience you will never forget.

Explorers Adventure Base Camp is the Adventure Destination for the young at heart and all nature lovers.

We are situated in the heart of the mountains, surrounded by nature with extraordinary views of waterfalls and a tranquil atmosphere.

Come relax around roaring camp fires at night and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of this magnificent location. And have fun with us all day until the sun sets and we gather for sun downers.

We offer basic shared accommodation in newly renovated lumber jack huts. There are single beds available in the village and 2—4 guests share a room.

Guests or Groups are requested to bring their own linen and towels. A sheet is supplied per single bed. Linen and towels can be provided at an additional cost.

There are 3 ablution blocks on the premises with 10 showers in total, ensuring that there are ample showers and toilets for groups.

We are situated in the heart of the mountains on the Long Tom Pass between Lydenburg and Sabie.

Directions from Johannesburg / Pretoria:

Take the N12 / N4 towards Witbank. Take the Belfast turn-off and follow the road through Belfast, Dullstroom, and Lydenburg and onto the Long Tom pass towards Sabie. After the 26 km board to Sabie, our turn off is 1.6 km on the right hand side (100m before Misty Mountain). If you pass Misty Mountain, you have passed the turn-off. Follow the dirt road and the boards to the village; it is approximately 9 km from the tar road.
