If you are looking to visit Fraser Island but don't want to camp in a tent, this is literally one of the only places you can stay! Explore the island's breathtaking sights by day and let our facilities complete your nights. We offer something unique for every type of traveler!

Base Camp Backpackers is a great place to stay if you want more than just a quick tour of Fraser Island. Do it at your own pace with your own 4WD and use our facilities at night to complete your stay! We have a fire pit, TV and DVD, volleyball, fully equipped kitchen including BBQ and wood burning pizza oven.

Note: Fraser Island has limited access, 4x4 vehicles only.

You can just hang around Base Camp and Eurong Resort, even if you don't have enough money to rent a 4WD. Located right along 75 mile beach, many people enjoy hiking and finding their own special spots! Go fishing with a local, have a pint at the local beach bar or just spend a relaxing day in paradise looking for whales off the deck. Visiting Fraser Island is like escaping reality and it's perfect for anyone of any age to have the experience of a lifetime!

PLEASE BE AWARE - there is NO PUBLIC TRANSPORT on the island. An Island Taxi is available but an extra cost.

We have seven fixed tented dorms. 3 Tents of 6 beds, 3 Tents of 8 beds and a double room with beach views; each torm its own ensuite with seperate toilet, shower and basin.

We provide all your linen. Pillow, pillow case, sheet, blanket or duvet.

We dont allow people to bring their own sleeping bags, meaning we don't ever get bed bugs!

If you are driving yourself, you'll have to drive (4x4 vehicles) and your best option is to get to Rainbow Beach 4WD hire. From there it is 5 minutes to Inskip Point and catch the Manta Ray Barge. Then drive north up the eastern beach, preferably at low tide. When you reach Eurong, take the first driveway before the main resort, Second valley and we are the first building on the right. Nice one!
