Li River cruise
Originating from the Mao�er Mountain, the cream of the Li River is the section from Guilin to Yangsuo, fabulous shaped limestone hills pillars and cliffs that rise sharply from the ground out of nowhere.
*bamboo raft :the bus picks up at 10:00am from the hostel, drives an hour to yangdi village, then 2 hours on the raft to Xingping which is the best point of the Li river cruise. Then you can choose stay there or to Yangshuo.
Longsheng rice terrace
Longsheng has more than 650years of history. They form a picture of great momentum and imposing beauty. Apart from these breathtaking man-made wonders, you can visit Yao and Zhuang Ethnic tribe and experience their original life style.
* Longsheng rice terrace: one day trip organized by How hostel,To rent a bus to Dazhai or Ping�an we�ll need at least 5 people to join the tour. Departure time is flexible. Please tell the receptionist a day in advance for any changes you may have. it takes about 2 hours to Heping. There is an additional entrance fee of 50 yuan to Heping which can be paid for at the ticket booth entrance at Heping.

Stayed here for 4 nights in a dorm room. Beds are super comfy, after a long journey I slept for about 12 hours! Everything was clean and the shower worked well. Wifi connection in the common room was great. The common room itself was a nice chilled out place, and the resident cats are adorable. I ate there most nights and the food was lovely and reasonably priced. Location-wise it's in a great spot. Only moments from local shops and a short walk to Elephant Trunk Hill and other beauty spots. All the staff were very sweet and helpful whenever I had a question. Great place, would recommend!

The staff were welcoming and lots of fun. They were very helpful with suggesting places to go! Me and my friends had a blast. Would def recommend this hostel!!!

Two very minor things that wouldn't put me off staying here again:
1. We stayed on a Saturday night, and there appeared to be an open-air karaoke session being held within earshot of the hostel. Also, one side of the hostel overlooks the river and part of the riverside walkway. This was a little bit noisy, but would probably be quieter during the week.
2. I think the hostel restaurant and bar were relatively new/recently expanded, but the service was a little slow. The staff were really friendly, always smiling and very helpful. With time I'm sure they will speed things up, and if you are in no hurry, this isn't an issue.
With those two provisos I would definitly recommend this place - clean rooms and facilities, friendly staff and excellent location for exploring Guilin on foot.
