Hello, Welcome to Hualien City (Hualien County), a beautiful place surrounded by the Pacific Ocean on its east and the grand Central Mountain Range on its west. Famous for its picturesque scenery and the wide array of natural resources, Hualien is home to the popular Taroko National Park, East Coast National Scenic Area, East Rift Valley Scenic Area and the Yushan National Park. With the towering mountains, amazing rock formations that lined the East Coast and a vast cultural diversity, Hualien has become a top choice destination for both the locals and international tourists.

The Monkey Surfing Backpackers Hostel- We are located along a quiet street on Lin-Sen Road, Hualien City, one can expect a good night's sleep. Our hostel is peaceful, spacious, clean and cozy. Our beds are safe with sturdy wooden bed frames instead of metal. Every room has a private toilet equipped with strong shower jets.

We are also strategically located close to the bar area which is a 3-minute walk away. There is also a sports bar, a couple of spas, basketball courts, convenience stores and eateries specializing in foreign cuisines, which is a short distance away. It takes approximately 10 minutes to walk downtown; 10 minutes to walk to the Starbucks in town; and the train station is a 10-15minute walk away. You are strongly advised to make a reservation via e-mail or phone. A pick-up service at the train station, airport or any other location is available upon request.

Our hostel boasts a nice, friendly and amazing atmosphere for all backpackers and travelers to wind down at the end of the day. We offer a place to stay inspired by a LOHAS life, with a slow-paced and relaxed atmosphere for all of you. We also provide pillowcases and bed linens alongside with housekeeping everyday.
