A significant portion of the existing 1940 art deco building has been retained with the additional development reflecting the heritage value of the site.

The design and architectural plans of the new Perth City YHA have combined the unique characteristics of a historic building with the latest in backpacker living.

Perth City YHA has significantly raised the standard of backpacker accommodation in Perth. Facilities include fully air-conditioned sleeping apartments, wireless internet available throughout the building, 50% of all rooms being private ensuited rooms, majority of dorm rooms being 4 bed only, car parking for up to 20 cars, a proposed on-site café bar and on site pool and are designed to meet the demands of travellers now and into the future.
