Situated on one of the most beautiful coastlines of the world, Baby Bush Lodge - locally known as \'Mtoto wa Shamba\' - is a laid-back, small lodge on the east coast of Zanzibar, Tanzania. Set up by fisherman and local entrepreneur Msuli Haji from Pemba, you will find yourself in an intimate, tropical atmosphere.

Sleep in one of the newly built bungalows or 5 bedroom beach lodge with 15m x 20m balcony. Go out in Musli\'s traditional wooden boat and fish together with the local fishermen or snorkel on the Kiwengwa reef, eat the catch of the day, enjoy world class diving on mnembe island(10k\'s away, swim with dolphins, or simply just relax on the palm-fringed beach of white sand.

Finding the place was a challenge....no road signs. Driving trough some local housing - very poor - we were worried for the time being.... but once you find the little Jewell it grows on you. I will certainly return with my family.
Just make sure the room you settle in is for the payment you made. The language barrier tend to cause some tension about which room for what price!!!! or perhaps it is a business opportunity to offer you an upgrade without telling you the upgrade price....even if you pay for 2 nights they tend not to tell you the amount is only enough for 1.....
Overall it is a lovely stay for people who are on a budget. We were exploring the whole day and only slept there. Supper was the best on the whole island.....compliments to the chef!!!
The sea retreat for about 1mile during low tide. Wonderful exploring.... we found sea-stars as big as your head!!! During high tide a very nice swimming place.
No swimming pool, but we walked to the neighboring "fancy" places, bought lunch and use their facilities.
For the lover budget traveler....this is a wonderful place to stay. Close to all the beach action. The most wonderful view- and we stayed all over Zanzibar.

Baby Bush was lovely, people friendly, food good, view spectacular!
