Now under new management, we at Gabriel house would like to offer a warm welcome to old friends and new.
Gabriel House Bed and Breakfast is situated on Summerhill, in the historic St. Luke's area of Cork city.
Gabriel House is deceptively quiet for such a centrally located establishment. This is due in part to its setting, surrounded as it is by well-kept gardens and spacious private car parking facilities.
Given its position, overlooking the eastern section of Cork city and the harbour, it's not surprising that the view from most of the rooms is very impressive. From here you can gaze out over the docks and the spires of Cork's churches and cathedrals, and the vista continues right out over the new South Link Road, into the countryside and beyond the city towards Ringaskiddy.
The rooms are spacious and well appointed; all en-suite with a shower and TV .
Rate includes a continental breakfast with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, a choice of juices, cereals, fruit, yogurt, toast, brown bread and jams.
Full Irish breakfast available at €10.
Breakfast is served from 7.30 to 10am.

As I walked up to the receptionist I received a warm welcome, a free map of Cork City and directions to where to find food if required. The rooms were a generous size and the bathroom was immaculate. If you wanted to the Guest House has it's own little stretch of garden that you could sit in and enjoy the views of Cork. At breakfast, there was a choice between a continental breakfast and/or a hot breakfast (with a choice of american-style pancakes, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on toast or a full irish breakfast)...all looked appetising but the pancakes were a standout winner for me. All up, the hospitality, locality, cleaniless and facilities were outstanding...this is a place I'd stay at again!

Great place. We had a room with a rooftop balcony which gave us a wonderful view over Cork city. The staff were really friendly and helpful too.

Great place and very friendly and helpful staff. We had a problem with one of our motorbikes and the guy at the desk went out of his way to help us out even getting a mechanic friend to come down and advise for nothing!
Very central, comfortable and clean and an excellent breakfast - what more can you want?
Would definatley return if I go back to Cork.

Gabriel House Guest House is a fine house set in the higher parts of Cork city....the house itself is nice and well kept.The breakfast is very good and there are quite enough food choices.A small point to quibble about is that it seems that you can't make coffee/tea in the rooms,but this facility is available in the dining area.Also it's a pity that such a nice house doesn't have some sort of a room to meet others in except for the dining area.Overall the atmosphere was good.There wasn't a remote control for the t.v. in my room at the time I stayed there,but this is not important if you want to get away from it all.Bathroom facilities are excellent.One very,very small point...the staff were very good,but I had to fight a little to get over a perceived coolness to citizens of the capital,Dublin,as guests.Is this "Capital envy" or some sort of Cork snobbery?The city itself is great and well worth a visit.....as are the people...
