The Dingle Gate hostel is a newly renovated family run hostel with free pick-up and drop off to Annascaul village,Annascaul lakes and water falls and inch beach on request. It is situated in the heart of the Dingle Peninsula, 1 km east of Annascaul village on the main Tralee/Dingle road. We are 16km from Dingle town, 27km from Tralee and 45km from Killarney.
Our hostel is purpose built, family run and offers a very high standard of accomodation and personal attention.
The building is spacious and has a large games room at the back with its own kitchen ideal for large groups. The games room consists of a pool table, table tennis and 10ft movie screen, with space to cater for up to 48 people.
The main building also has its own kitchen and tv room. 8 of the 12 rooms are ensuite. We also have private rooms(double rooms) ideal for couples or family groups. We cater for families, groups and individuals.
The dingle gate hostel has a lot to offer for every type of traveller. Inch beach, which is only a 15 minutes drive is ideal for bass fishing and relaxing. Annascaul lakes are again only 15 minutes drive, surrounded by mountains and water falls. Annascaul town itself is small but has 8 pubs, one of which is the South Pole Inn, home of the famous explorer Tom Crean.

The best hostel I've stayed at in Ireland so far, and definitely the best "vibe" - atmosphere, people, house etc. - hostel I've ever stayed in.
However it is far too cold in winter, especially compared to the other places I've been. The dorms and bathrooms are simply not warm enough and it can be very uncomfortable getting up and showering in the morning.
Also potential guests should be advised on the website that there are two house cats that live in the hostel. Although I love cats and was very happy they were there, you should be considerate of other people who may have allergies.
Aside from these two quibbles it really is a magnificent place to stay in a magnificent part of the world. It is one of the few hostels I would be happy to go back to.
