Over Errigal Hostel (Hostelling International)

Situated amongst the misty hills of Dunlewey, Errigal Hostel has been sheltering hill walkers, photographers, bikers and hikers for over forty years.

The lure of Errigal Mountain with its 100% panoramic views of northwest Donegal will surely delight the novice as well as the experienced climber.

The infamous Poisoned Glen with its resident ghost 'The Green Lady' should also keep those intrepid ghost hunters on their toes!

The hostel is also a prime location from which to discover the northwest Donegal area. From here you can visit the Glenveagh national park with its castle and Italian gardens, or take a stroll along one of the many white sandy beaches of the Donegal coast.

The nearest town of Bunbeg contains many a traditional pub where you can listen to an Irish music session while savouring a drop or two of the black stuff!

Dit is een Vertrouwde Recensie. Waarom?

Three-year old facility, easily the nicest of the 16 hostels we stayed in on our three-week road trip in Ireland. Spent two nights there -- Gorgeous location, right below Errigal Mountain; easy access to the delightful Glenveagh National Park, just up the road; easy drive to nearby beaches; Modern, very clean! Nice hikes across the road from the hostel; Staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful. Coin washers and dryers a nice touch. Five stars, indeed!!

Dit is een Vertrouwde Recensie. Waarom?

My grandmother warned me not to stay in a hostel...and now I know why. I wasn't particularly happy with this hostel for five reasons...1) they messed up my booking and thought I was staying for 2 nights instead of 1 (thankfully they reduced the balance I owed them when they realised the error); 2) the room I received had a dicky door and you needed to open it a certain way; 3) the shower was one of those ones you expect to see at the beach; 4) it was noisy (the walls were practically paper thin); and 5) the beds were so low to the ground, I almost thought they'd put the mattress on the ground itself. I will say this much for it though...the views were spectacular!
