Residenza Junghans is a students’ dorm on Giudecca Island, recently renovated and is now worth passing for a good no less than a three-star hotel

Students squarely and regularly live here, but there are 50 rooms being rented to tourists on a commercial basis. The rooms are clean, spacious, very light, with plane modern interior, which is rare in Venice. The floor is laid with span-new parquet, and this is also a unique thing for Venice – they usually make it either with stone or a well-handled carpet.

n all the rooms there is a shower and a toilet. Beds are done by a woman that comes every day. It seems to be all very well but the rooms have neither air conditioning nor a fan. Window shutters at day-time could be a rescue from the heat, but, alas, there are none. You won’t find a TV-set but in a rest-room, the only one for a passage. There is a kitchen on the ground floor, but there is no stove in there, just a microwave – so, you won’t be able too cook.
