The Green Saman, Cali, Colombia

The only hostel in Cali with a swimming pool, The Green Saman combines the relaxing environment of a resort with the friendly atmosphere and fun of a hostel. We have a full service bar and restaurant and are located in a relaxing but central area of the city.

The Green Saman is far from your typical hostel. Fraser, the Scottish owner, found a large traditional finca located within the city and converted it in to a paradise for travellers making their way through Colombia. Our bar and restaurant is also open to locals, and we put on events and live music with artists well known across Colombia, so we have a nice atmosphere where travellers and locals can mix.

We try and keep a chilled out atmoshphere here, play good music, make nice cocktails and chill out by the pool or the terrace bar. We have a big cinema / TV room where we project movies, Spanish and English football and British TV (from BBC iplayer). We have a salsa studio, a free class every Wednesday and a teacher available every day.

We´d rather have happy guests than get more bookings and have people who the place isn´t right for so we make clear we sometimes have DJs or bands at the weekend so there is noise until midnight or 1am on Friday and Saturday, the location isn´t right in the city centre (but 5 minutes by taxi and you are there) and although we have great facilities like the sauna, steam room, nice big showers etc, now and again things will break or need maintainence so if that happens we do ask people to remember this is a HOSTEL not a 5 STAR HOTEL.
