I met a guy in the blue Mountains that said, "If you are going back to sydney you need to go to The Palms! Free internet! Free xbox! Free Breakfast! Tons of cool people..."
He wouldn't stop talking about it, so me and a girl I met in the blue mountains booked a night a couple of nights there.
Well I got there and my first impression of the place was to turn around and run as fast as I could.

Situated on the edge of Kings Cross 'The Palms' is ideally located for those wanting to explore Sydney! Its central location also provides an excellent base for jobseekers looking for work in the city. Located in the South East corner of the city its a 15min walk through the Botanical gardens to the Opera house and Harbour Bridge. In the other direction you are only 20 minutes from Bondi Beach and a fifteen minute walk from Oxford St. Shopping.

The Palms is a small hostel with only 50 beds in total, this creates a fantastic friendly atmosphere more like that of a student house than a business with many people who stay making friends they will keep for years to come.

The Palms Backpackers is an International Youth Hostel. Bookings are only accepted from overseas vistors.

He wouldn't stop talking about it, so me and a girl I met in the blue mountains booked a night a couple of nights there.
Well I got there and my first impression of the place was to turn around and run as fast as I could. the building was mess, I had to step over a people laying in the middle of the floor to get to my room which was so cluttered I couldn't open the door all the way. Plus there were bugs on the walls!
I headed out with this girl for the night we partied at a couple of clubs with some people from other hostels, and I came back to the palms at 4am and everyone was still up so I started talking to a few of them, I had a blast made a lot of new friends...next thing I know a couple of weeks passed and I had to pry myself away to see the rest of australia. I could have easily spent my entire trip there.
The place is small...it's like a house with 30 people living in it, and most of the people have either been there for months because they like it so much or they are return visitors because they liked it so much.
plus the owner, Dan is pretty cool, he has a dog that hangs around the hostel, and takes people to the beach.
Best hostel I stayed at in australia...easily!
