Each of our 4 guestrooms are singingly let furnished, combining the comfort of contemporary textiles with traditional antique furniture.

The interiors preserve the atmosphere of a classic Portuguese mid-century urban apartment, with its distinctive high ceilings and solid wood floor.

There are 2 shared bathrooms, which are kept clean all day round, a communal area which includes a properly equipped kitchen, a cosy dining room and a large west-facing balcony.

Liberdade Guesthouse is easily accessible by public transport (bus, train, taxi).

For cars - there is a free parking area nearby.

From the Central Bus Station:

Walking distance: 10-15 minutes.

--- Leave the Bus Station from the main entrance and walk up Avenida General Norton de Matos. After the crossroads, the road passes under a building and turns into Rua dos Chãos. Walk down the road until you reach the main square with a large fountain. Walk past the fountain onto the long avenue flanked by trees and rows of flowerbeds. On the left hand side you will see a large H&M clothes store. You will find the entrance to the Liberdade Guesthouse between the H&M store and Barclays Bank.

The Bus Station has daily connections to Coimbra, Porto, Guimarães and Lisbon. Buses to Porto run every 30 minutes and take just over an hour.

Buses to Guimarães run every hour and take just over 20 minutes.

From the Train Station:

Walking distance: 20-25 minutes.

--- Leave the Train Station from the main entrance, cross the main road and follow the cobbled road on the left – Rua Andrade Corvo. Walk up the street and walk under the large stone arch – Arco da Porta Nova. Follow the pedestrian street – Rua do Souto until you get to a large square with a fountain on your left and an avenue with flowerbeds on your right. Walk down the avenue until you reach the big H&M clothes store. You will find the entrance of the Liberdade Guesthouse between the H&M store and Barclays Bank.

There are hourly train connections to Porto (the journey takes about 1hour) and regular trains to Lisbon (the journey takes 3 hours and 30 minutes).

Taxi Directions:

If you choose to pick a taxi make sure you ask to be dropped at the end of Rua do Raio – near the bus stop. The bus stop is in a small square with grassbeds and a statue. Walk towards the large avenue with the flowerbeds and turn right into it. Walk up the avenue until you see the H&M store on your right. You will find the entrance to the Liberdade Guesthouse between the H&M store and Barclays Bank.
