joriedi2 I want to first start this review out by saying I am a bit biased when it comes to anything in Puno--I really didn't like the city. However, Camino Real was a lovely place to stay. Staff were friendly and helpful, our rooms were cleaned daily, and hot water was always available. There were TVs in the rooms (which normally makes no difference to me, but I got pretty sick one day and was confined to my room. Suddenly that TV was the best thing ever!). The breakfast that was included in the room price was very good, and tea was available during the day. The hotel itself is very centrally located to the main tourist center and plenty of shops, restaurants, and tourist offices are nearby. All of the tours we took picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel. I don't think I'll be back in Puno ever again, but if I were, I would stay at Camino Real.

jonathanda Good hostel, hot showers, close to the centre and the harbour. However do not arrange bus transport here, they charged me more than double for a bus ticket to Arequipa and we almost missed the bus because the person that went to get the tickets forgot them at home.

Sander A hotel which has seen better times (cracked windows 'repaired' with duct-tape being the most obvious sign of this), the Conde de Lemos Inn still has near top-notch facilities, free WiFi (once you get the staff to spill the password), not just "hot water" but actual _baths_ (!), and breakfast which is free and decent (even if it's no longer available after 09:00, and already mostly depleted by 08:30). Still, it's very much a hotel, and (thus?) lacks atmosphere, plus the price is just way high compared to other accommodation in Peru, which will give you nearly as much comfort. So, in my opinion, this place is a bit of a mixed bag. Maybe if places I stayed at before hadn't been as good as they were, I'd be more positive - and I can easily imagine that many people will find this a great place.
