Casa da Valeska, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil

We loved staying at Casa da Valeska. I can't tell you how perfect and wonderful our stay was here. Valeska, who doesn't live in the Casa but makes daily visits to the apartment, has been the most helpful hotel owner we have met during our 2 month trip throughout South America. The location of this Casa is ideal. It is less than a block from the beach. It is close to some great places to eat and 2 blocks away from the metro station (which will take you to Centro, Ipamena, and about anywhere else) and it is close to some main boulevards so that you can catch a bus anywhere (which we did nearly every day).

The rooms are spotless and are cleaned regularly. Valeska has invested a lot of money in renovating all the bathrooms, which are pristine. There are fans in each room and televisions with cable. The kitchen is clean, she provides a computer for the Casa's use and wifi. There are only 3 rooms and all the guests that stay are polite and friendly.

We stayed two separate stays in Rio, and after booking at a different Pousada for our return and having a miserable experience we called Valeska and she worked really hard to find us a place to stay that was nicer. We got so lucky and she got a last minute cancellation and we spent the rest of our trip back at the Casa. We couldn't have been happier.

Copacabana for us was a great location and safe. It was cheaper than anything in Ipanema but very close if we wanted to eat there or enjoy that beach as well. You seriously can't go wrong staying at this Casa. You won't be disappointed. We loved it! Thank you Valeska!!
