Welcome to the Hotel Liberty. We are a fun, budget hotel located in the centre of Amsterdam off one of the oldest canals in the city, offering cheap accommodation for all types of vacations.

Hotel Liberty is a warm and friendly Hotel that welcomes travellers from all over the world. We have experience in the industry and know what travellers value and need during their stay.

Guests can relax in our chill out room with Digital TV and an Xbox. Or why not have a catch up with friends and family with our Free Wi-Fi access throughout the property?

Please note:

*There is a 20 Euro refundable key deposit for each room.

*Liberty Hotel does not accept credit cards, only cash upon arrival.

*Reception/check in is from 09:30 - 2300, but guests have 24hour access to the hotel.

Tours, trips, discount cards and excursions are available from the receptionist.

You have a choice of twins, a double or quad rooms.

Twins and quad rooms come with single beds and the double room has a double bed.

Children not requiring an extra bed may stay for free.

Bed sheets and linen are provided and all rooms are equipped with a security locker.

All showers and WC's are shared with 24hours of hot water.

Free Wi-Fi in all the rooms, 24hour heating and a TV lounge.

Take the train from the airport to Centraal Station. It only costs EUR 3.70 and takes about 10 minutes. Walk out of Centraal Station, cross the street and make a right turn. Make a left turn on the next street (Singel Canal) and walk up to Singel 5.

If you decide to take a taxi from the airport, know that it shouldn't cost you more than EUR 45.00.

The hostel is in a great location, walking distance from the train station and near all the sights. It was quiet at night. It is very basic, but clean. If you have trouble walking do not stay here, the stairs are so steep it is like using a step ladder near the top! The rooms need new carpets and repainting, but the bedding was clean and beds comfortable. The lady was very helpful and looked after our bags for us the next day when we went sightseeing, after checking out. She let us hang on to the key so we could come back for our bags. She was cooking a few meals for a group of lads who were staying for quite a while; they couldn't afford the high prices of the meals in Amsterdam. She was very kind and was looking after them.

Pros:
- Location
- Cheap, which is something rare in Amsterdam
- Relaxed environment, they won't rush you to check out or anything

Cons:
- Very dirty
- Inconsistent breakfast, some days there was one (never before 10am) and on other days nothing
- Constant overbooking, so you might end up sleeping on a dirty old mattress in the common room (they overbooked at least 4-5 groups during our stay)

Conclusion:
I don't know if I would go back after my stay just because of how crappy the hotel can be, but then again, the price and location are the best in Amsterdam.

This is a bare bones place. But the price compared to other places and the location can't be beat. Don't expect much more than a bed and narrow climb up the stairs and you will not be disappointed.
