When our guests arrive at this new and vibrant Hostel they can relax in our social chill out area, which will have flat screen TV’s and will be showing the latest movies every night and the latest big sporting event. You can have a game of pool or challenge your mate to a foosball game. Whatever you are looking for you will find it at this new and exciting hostel. We offer tremendous views of the Castle and Grassmarket from our bright, sunny, rooms. We also offer the best facilities, everything from WI-FI internet to our cool and funky cafe. Whatever you are looking for you will find it here.

The hostel has 20 rooms and it has a wide selection of dorms; from private rooms to a 24-bed dorm, which is for the really price conscious traveller, but it has an excellent view of the castle from the window. Also, we have a family room, which will be en-suite and you’ll have your own TV in the room just so you can have that quiet time with the family. Our whole top floor is our executive floor, as all the rooms are fitted with TVs. Great care has been taken in furnishing our spacious rooms to the highest standard with top quality bunks and secure storage facilities.

Our mission is to provide comfortable, secure, clean and spacious accommodation to the budget backpacker. We want our guests to have a great time when they come to Edinburgh and when they leave we want them to tell their friends that the Art Roch Hostel is the place to stay in Edinburgh.

From the Airport (by bus)- Get the Airport Shuttle Bus (No 100), that’s located outside the terminal building and take it to Waverley Bridge. Then follow the directions below from Waverley train station.

From Waverley train station (on foot)- Take the exit at the station that takes you up to Waverley Bridge (this is the road that all the taxis are taking). Now, when you get to the top you will see the Castle in front of you. Turn left and walk 100 meters till you come to a small round about. Turn right at the round about so you are on Market Street. When you get to the top of the street turn left onto Bank Street and follow this street around till you get to the Royal Mile. Once you get to the Royal Mile continue walking through the intersection on to George IV Bridge (It’s not a bridge, it’s a street). Walk 50 meters and turn right at Victoria Street. Walk to the bottom of the street and turn right once you hit the Grassmarket. We are then located 200 meters up on the left-hand side in the corner of the Grassmarket.

From bus station (on foot)- When you leave the bus station from the front entrance turn left on St. Andrews Street. Walk two streets down till you reach Princes Street. When you get to the set of lights walk cross the road and continue to Waverley Bridge. From here follow the directions as above from Waverley Bridge.

It is a 10 minute walk from Waverley.
